Our Story

EMC Elite was founded in 2011 by our very own Elita Cruikshank.

I was born and educated in Canberra and have always had an interest in sports and wellness, and been physically fit from a young age, which fuelled my love and passion for the fitness, health and wellness industries.  On completion of my HSC I moved straight into obtaining my personal training qualifications with AIF, while working in one of Canberra’s most well respected gyms. I then moved to Sydney where I worked for 5 years in gyms and health and wellness centres while completing my massage qualifications.

In 2013 I moved to the Middle East and spent the next 4 years living and working in Dubai.  I first worked as the Fitness Manager with Fitness First and then moved to a local business as General Manager in a complex consisting of a Gym, Spa, Salon, and Function Centre, owned by one of Dubai’s Sheikhas (Princess’), before starting my own business where I was offering Personal Training and Remedial/Sports Therapy massage to some of the local Sheikha’s of Dubai and their families and expats living in Dubai.

In September 2017 I moved back to the Gold Coast in Australia and continued operating my business there in the Massage, Fitness and Wellness arenas.

In February 2019 I married my amazing husband from New Zealand and moved to Christchurch NZ to live and work.

In 2020 we moved back to Australia, this time to Eden NSW where my family bought “Disaster Bay Chillies” we arrived with eagerness to learn and see what it was all about. To enjoy a more relaxed and exciting environment where now i operate from the family farm.

While living in Dubai I joined the Innerfight CrossFit gym and developed a love and passion for CrossFit.  I competed in the 2017 CrossFit games scaled category and came 3rd overall in Dubai and 10th overall in the Middle East and African Region.

I have done many obstacle races such as Spartan Races and Tuff Mudder, and many different running events ranging from 3km to 12kms.

I have been in the Health, Fitness and Wellness industry for the past 11 years and have a strong passion and love for this field.

With my own personal journey and experience in Australia and overseas, I believe I am well equipped to help you achieve all your goals and make your dreams a reality.
